Browsing Posts in My Journey

Today is Monday the 27th of June

Now that I am getting into the actual work of site design and creation I have switched to a weekly update format I will continue to do periodic updates as things happen on Twitter between posts so be sure to follow me @turrentllc

I have been studying the fundamentals getting back to basics and focusing my time on keyword research, site structure and documentation. I have created a mind map using a free software called Free Mind this program allowed me to free form design the direction I would like to go with my site woodworking resource .

I have also built on the email marketing I discussed last time and added a news letter subscription form on the main page  this will support a monthly news letter with articles, product reviews and free project plans only available to subscribers.

My next steps will be to add the additional pages (Privacy, TOs and Contact)

see you then

Today is Monday the 13th of June
This week I am going to be focusing on Email marketing and setting up my first auto responder message series. This will be for my site www.maximumfatburning.com this site is set up primarily to promote the Clickbank product Fat Burning Furnace

This campaign has an auto responder series available to affiliates with 4 messages and I will be using these files for my mailings.

I will be using iContact as my email service they are the only one I was able to find that provided a free version that would allow me to get started I can set up a campaign and will not be charged until my subscriber list exceeds 500 email addresses.
This is a good way for me to get started since I am on a low-budget I am hoping that I can start profiting from my list before I exceed the 500 subscriber count.

Based on the information I have been reading an important element of a successful email campaign is the hook needed to get people to subscribe. I will be using an eBook called the 7 secrets to effective weight loss also provided by the Rob Poulos writer of the Fat burning Furnace provided to new subscribers for free.

The second but possibly the most important is planning out the email campaign I have made the following diagram to outline the process I will be using.

More to follow as I learn to use iContact and start building my list

I Was sick yesterday so I did not post but I did spend a lot of time thinking and planning my next steps. feeling better and ready to get going again

Back in the saddle today and was reflecting on the mistakes I made as I got started
My first and probably my biggest was selecting niche’s that had way to much competition.

My first website was for internet hosting everyone needs a website to get started right,
and my hosting selection had an affiliate program so it seamed like a good start.

but as I was setting it up and learning about the business I found the site leaning more into the high competition internet marketing niche. bad Idea number two.

Still a newbie and drove head first into weight-loss and nutrition without much thought or planning

on top of the mess I was already making of my sites I was spending more than I needed to by registering my new domains with my hosting provider at 10.00 a pop. Instead of using namecheap.com and transferring the domains. I do admit that 10.00 is not a lot but with 6 domains I racked up 70.00 in fees Yes I registered one of them for 2 years. When getting started every cent matters and I should have moved more slowly.

So my goal for today is to take the sites I have that are overly competitive and put them on autopilot using WP Robot and The Best Spinner software.

and also add any monetization I can then let them run out there getting a few hits a week.

Well tell next time

Eric

PS: if anyone is reading this add a quick comment just so I know I’m not by my self  in this journey

My next steps will be to update each site to standardize the plugins across each site

I have been studying affiliate marketing since November 2010 without any profits to show for my efforts, I have tried several products to learn to create a profitable website but most were just rehashed old and outdated techniques.

So this weekend I decided I was going to hit the reset button and start from scratch. getting back to basics and retracing the steps I did actually find to be useful.

I will be blogging about my experience here. I hope that I will develop a following and that I can turn this into a profitable and valuable resource for others that are also struggling to make internet marketing a workable alternative to the 9 to 5 daily grind.

My goals for today will be to remove all poorly written or swiped posts from my existing domains and cleanup the site structures so that the most effective plugins and techniques are in place.
